3 Things to Do on a Ramadan Weekend

1) Do a good deed and get rewarded for it too! Visit your local Souq Extra center and donate a canned food item at the designated Emirates Red Crescent box. Between 3pm to 9pm every Thursday & Friday during Ramadan, you will also get a chance to spin the wheel, play some interesting games and take home an instant prize!

2) Stock up for a healthier pantry. Avoid giving in to temptation the rest of the week by ensuring your kitchen pantry is well-stocked with health-loving superfoods. Avoid the maddening weekend traffic, and head to the supermarket at your local Souq Extra center.

  • 3) Try out new cuisines for Iftar. Iftars are synonymous with traditional treats, and these vary from culture to culture. An Emirati Iftar is incomplete without Harees (the traditional wheat and meat dish), the slow-cooked meat, wheat and lentils dish known as Haleem is ever-popular on Indian Iftaar tables, and Fruit Chaat (a tangy-sweet medley of fresh fruits and spices) is a must on Pakistani Iftar tables. Book an Iftar table out or look up traditional recipes and impress the family with a brand-new treat.
